Vessel legends

Model HERZOGIN CECILIE 1902 (in construction)

The time of great square-riggers, who carried cargo with swelled sails and moaning riggings from continent to continent, is irrevocably over. But the myth of tall masts is still alive: The sailing ship was a symbol of an era that made business through its fight with sharp waves and wind and the vast seas. Their engines seemed to reach for the stars at full steam; an engine that was doing its work in perfect silence with motionless grace, that was powered by a capricious and unpredictable force that exploited none of the earth resources, the ever present wind.
